The
Canadian culture strongly has been influenced by the
culture and British traditions, as well as by the
French culture, although to a
lesser extent, and it as a result of its colonial past. Additionally, the
culture of Canada has been influenced also by the American culture partly due to
its geographic proximity but also due to the migration of people, ideas,
investments of capital and policies through its border. In spite of these
British and American traditions, the
Canadian culture has developed several own
characteristics. In recent years a more robust and own culture has been
developed in many aspects one more, partially due to the civic nationalism that
to spread by Canada during the years near the Canadian centenary of 1967, but
also thanks to a greater approach in programs of support to the culture and
carried out Canadian arts by the federal government. The governments of the
United States and Canada share a legal series of close societies of work in the
matter of commerce, economy and subjects. Many American films, authors, programs
of television and musicians are equally popular in Canada and vice versa. The
majority of cultural products of this type is at the moment publicitados towards
a market " norteamericano" unified and not specifically towards the markets of
Canada or the
United States.
