Denmark,
it is the minor in
extension between the Nordic countries and also most southern.
Denmark comprises
of Scandinavia and it only has border with
Germany. From 1999 it is united by
highway and railroad with
Sweden by the Bridge from Oresund to the Southeast and
limits the north with
Norway. Denmark counts on two overseas territories or
dependent territory, Greenland and the Faeroes, that enjoy a high level of
autonomy.

The territory consists of the Danish peninsula Jutland (Jylland) and 407 islands of which 79 are inhabited (2009) 2 Denmark is completely surrounded by the North Sea and Baltic Sea, with the exception of Jutland, which binds the European continent. The main Danish islands are Zealand (Sjælland), Funen (Fyn), Vendsyssel-Thy, Lolland and Bornholm, farthest from the Danish archipelago. This position has been to Denmark, historically, control over access to the Baltic Sea.
