AnatoliaTurkey is a unitary State that is divided administratively in 81 provinces, (to iller, singular il) to the front of each one of as is a governor (vali) designated by the central Government. AnkaraAnkara is the capital of Turkey, the region of Central Anatolia and the homonymous province. According to the 2007 census it has a population of 4.140.890 inhabitants,  it turns what it into the second more populated city of the country after Istambul. It lodges several universities, the National Library, the Archaeological Museum, the Ethnographic Museum and the Museum of the Anatolias Civilizations. The mausoleum of Kemal Atatürk (Anıtkabir), the most important figure of Turkey in century XX, also is located in Ankara.
